It’s true – while places like Indonesia, Japan, and even New Zealand have frequent volcanic activity, Australia remains a “volcano-free zone.” The country’s last eruption happened over 5,000 years ago.
But even though there are no active volcanoes, Australia still has some beautiful ancient volcanic landscapes, like the Blue Mountains and the Glass House Mountains!
And here’s another fun fact: Australia has the world’s longest fence! The Dingo Fence stretches over 5,600 kilometers (3,480 miles) and was originally built to keep wild dogs (dingoes) away from fertile farmland. It’s so long, you could nearly wrap it around the entire country!
